According to the 2007 Homeless Account statistics by the LAHSA or Los Angeles Housing Services Authority, the staggering 75,000 homeless people in the city comprises of: 83% low-income individuals who suffer from the scarcity of shelters; 84% LA residents the time they became homeless; 74% homeless people with one or more disabling condition; 93% unemployed individuals; 11% domestically violated people and 34% victims of crime. The Weingart Center Association is aimed at delivering high quality and highly effective human services and providing innovative solutions that helps to break the homelessness cycle and end poverty in the county. With their collaborative, individualized, compassionate, adaptive and comprehensive services, they help change the lives of homeless men, women, children, veterans, and individuals from any demographic and get them through their crisis to live totally independent lives.

The group continually develops programs for the changing needs of the community while clearing up each of their client’s draw backs for living a progressive life such as legal, tax and credit problems as well as treating issues of substance abuse, and other illnesses. They encourage their clients to save up their incomes while under their care in order to gear them up for the challenges of an independent living situation.

The Weingart Center Association focuses on long term solutions and gives services such as Transitional Residential Housing, Education, Substance Abuse Recovery, Medical Treatment, Case Management, Mental Health, Workforce Development, Family Services, Permanent Supportive Housing,, Life Skills, Work Appropriate Attire, Nutritious Meals and Tax, Legal and Credit Aid. They have appropriate services for the diverse homeless populace, including programs specifically targeted for men, veterans, women, HIV+ victims, people on parole, mentally ill, families and those with issues of substance abuse.
