The San Francisco Renaissance Voices is an organization of standout and talented performers and artists that storms the Bay Area with their awe inspired performances that relive the greatness of renaissance art. They explore the many facets of the renaissance period, giving life to the greatest works and lesser known masterpieces of this traditional and classical period. They are a group of talented artists that aim to pursue and continue the renaissance tradition amid the overwhelming rise of many other forms of musical and artistic performances. The members of the San Francisco Renaissance Voices needs your car donation to further pursue their aims of reliving the past and giving top of the line performances for the appreciation of the great renaissance period.
The San Francisco Renaissance Voices started its cause way back October 2004, when they made their debut performance entitled Victoria’s Requiem—a standing room only performance that instantly grew to be a crowd favorite among the audiences if the San Francisco Bay area, giving emphasis on the Early Music tradition. Recognized for their unique and imaginative programming, the San Francisco Renaissance Voices dedicates itself to developing a mixed voice ensemble which gives life to the a cappella choral music popular in their performances. Promoting mainly the rarely performed and lesser known works of the renaissance, the group truly gives a chance for the unfamiliar to show.
Recognized and featured by the country’s most respected periodicals such as the Early Music America, the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, USA Today and Newsday as a standout early music ensemble, there is no doubt about the caliber and ability of this group to affect the early music audience.
Some of the group’s most successful performances include the Opera Early and Ancient series, which garnered very significant and special attention, as well as the one entitled Technicolor which infuses an East Indian twist to the Ordo Virtutum by Hildegard von Bingen. More performances of this kind would be produced with your generous car donation to the San Francisco Renaissance Voices, which would greatly help finance their productions and bring the rich renaissance music back to life.
Currently, the group resides at the Seventh Avenue Presbyterian Church in San Francisco. Their individual singers have been able to perform with respected groups such as the American Bach Soloists, Caramel Bach Festival, California Bach Society, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus—a great honor to carry.
